How to Filter by a Contact's Area Code (DDD) in a Generic Customer Automation?

This article explains how to use a contact's area code (DDD) to create filters in generic customer automations, allowing you to segment actions by region and personalize communications more strategically.

In Ploomes, you can create customer-specific automations, known as generic automations.

By using the area code (DDD) from registered phone numbers, you can segment regional campaigns, send personalized messages, or organize contacts by location.

Practical Use Case

Imagine you want to send a special promotion only to customers located in São Paulo (Area Code 11).

Use this automation to segment your regional audience and increase conversion rates with personalized communications.

Configuration

1. Create the Automation

  • Go to Administration > Automations > Customer > New Automation.

  • Click Filter.

2. Configure the Filter

  • Select Phone Numbers > Number > Contains.

  • In the value field, enter the desired area code in parentheses. For example, for São Paulo, use (11). This ensures that only contacts with that area code are included.

3. Choose the Trigger and Action

  • Choose a trigger such as Periodically to check for new contacts at regular intervals.

  • Configure the desired action, such as Send Email, Create Task, or Create Deal.

⚠️ Note: The description is required. It is recommended to use a clear and descriptive name so the automation can be easily found later for future updates or troubleshooting.
