Birthday fields are strategic features that allow you to identify relationship opportunities with customers on important dates, making it easier to take actions such as sending celebratory messages.

How to filter customers by birthday?

Before setting up the filter, you need to add the Date of birth field to the customer form.

How to add the field to the form?

⚠️ Only users with the Administrator profile have access to this screen and configuration.

  • Go to Administration > Fields and forms > Customer > People;

  • Click Add field;

  • Search for the Date of birth field and add it to the form;

  • Click Save form to complete the change.

Once this is done, when creating or editing a customer, you will be able to fill in the Date of birth field.

With this information saved, the Last birthday and Next birthday fields will be automatically calculated by Ploomes, allowing them to be used in filters and tabs.

How to create the filter?

  • Go to the Customers page;

  • Click Filters > New filter > Advanced filter;

  • Define the filter name and who will be able to view it;

  • Add the following condition:

    • Next birthday > Equals to > Relative date > Today;

  • Click Apply or Save if you want to reuse this filter in the future.

You can also create a tab using this same condition. To do this, go to the Customers page, click New tab, and configure the same criteria used in the filter.

How to use it in an automation?

You can configure an automation that runs periodically to send a birthday greeting email to your customers on their birthday.

  • Go to Administration > Automations;

  • Select Customer > New automation;

  • Define the automation name;

  • In Trigger, select Periodically;

  • Set it to run daily at your preferred time;

  • Add the following filter:

    • Next birthday > Equals to > Relative date > Today;

  • In the automation action, select Send e-mail;

  • As the recipient, choose the Client Email field;

  • Define the Subject and message content;

  • Click Save to finish the configuration.
