Recording the date a deal enters each stage of the pipeline is essential for tracking deal progress. With Ploomes pipeline automations, you can automate this process and maintain an accurate history of every stage transition.
Configuration
1. Access the Pipeline
Go to the Deals module (the name may vary depending on your account configuration).
Select the desired pipeline and click Menu > Configure Pipeline.
2. Create the Automation for the Stage
Choose the desired stage (e.g., Initial Contact).
Click Configure Automations > New Automation.
Fill in the Description field with the purpose of the automation.
3. Configure the Trigger
Under Trigger, select Deal Entered This Stage.
4. Define the Action
Under When triggered, what should the automation do?, select Edit Data.
Choose the field that will store the information.
If the field does not exist, click Quick Create and configure it as follows:
Name: Entry Date - [Stage Name]
Type: Date
5. Configure the Field Value
Set the value type to Days After Automation = 0.
This ensures that the field is automatically populated with the date on which the automation is executed.
6. Add a Condition to Prevent Overwriting
Add the following filter:
[Created Field] > Is Empty
This configuration prevents the date from being overwritten if the deal returns to the same stage.
7. Save the Automation
Click Save to complete the configuration.
🧩 Tip: If you need to record the entry date for more than one stage, repeat this process by creating a dedicated date field for each stage. You can also use the Duplicate Automation option to make creating additional automations faster.
